Soak the beans overnight. Recipe says soak beans overnight (2 2/3 c) - not sure if that's the measurement of beans or of water to go over them.

Drain, then boil with 1/2 t. soda, boiling until soft.

Put the boiled beans in the pot and add the remaining ingredients.

Bake 8 hours or more at 300*. Check regularly, adding water as needed in order to make sure the beans are always covered.
